Chip Austin Hunter Chip Austin Hunter, Mosaica Inc., Krystal Writing Boards, Inc.Born and raised in Long Island and Westchester County New York, Chip graduated High School at the age of 15. After a few years of study at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy , he went to the University of Miami where he studied Psychology and Theater. In 1993, Chip moved to Los Angeles where he started a Mosaic Studio and produced some major public art installations as well as creating commercial and residential functional art pieces. After spending some time as a Los Angeles artist, Chip developed the concept for Art Share Los Angeles. The thought of a place where low-income people could receive life and employment skills while giving back to the community was the beginning of what now is a large multi-level arts incubator serving the many people of Los Angeles. The combination of wholesale and retail experience with an infusion of philanthropic and social service priorities enabled Chip to have all the necessary training and insight into creating Art Share and helped him achieve great accomplishments while he raised 12 million dollars in just 5 years. Among these accomplishments was receipt of the Presidents Daily Point of Light Award by President Bill Clinton. Chip moved back to New York to be with Family in Huntington and after experiencing a large demand for his mosaic work, Chip later opened Mosaica in Huntington Station. As the company grew, [www.mosaica.us ] Chip moved the business to Patchogue, New York and developed it into a more diverse company that serves as an architectural and designer fabrication resource. It was this growth in multi medium development that led Chip, through Mosaica, down the path to fabricate and develop the Krystal Glass Writing Boards. Krystal quickly became a high volume business of its own and Chip was lucky enough to find his business partner Charlie Baker who invested in the growth of the business and is here to handle Sales and Marketing. He has hopes of eventually recreating an Art Share organization in New York while helping to revitalize the Patchogue area. Chip is presently the Founding President of the Patchogue Arts Council. Outside of his Mosaic Art; Youth Programs, Economic Development and Community Beautification are among his strongest passions.
Charlie Baker Charlie Baker, Krystal™ Writing Boards, Inc.Charlie is a life long resident of Patchogue-Medford, a member of the Patchogue Lion’s Club and a member of the Patchogue Chamber of Commerce. He is also a Founding Member and Vice President of the Patchogue Arts Council. Again, by taking his passion for helping local organizations grow, he saw a unique opportunity to grow the culture of his home town through the arts. He founded Krystal™ Writing Boards, Inc. with his partner Chip Hunter because he saw the tremendous use for glass writing boards. After being in many board rooms and classrooms throughout his career, he realized the great benefits of using a tool such as a glass writing board.
